WHIPWORM
Whipworms are a problem practically everywhere in the United States. Whipworm infection causes bloody diarrhea, weight loss, anemia and dehydration. Whipworm eggs pass into soil, and once there, are extremely resistant to the most severe weather conditions.
Signs of whipworm disease include diarrhea, straining to defecate, bloody stool and loss of appetite. If your dog has any of these symptoms, call your veterinarian immediately. Be sure to bring a stool sample for the veterinarian to examine.
Both INTERCEPTOR® (milbemycin oxime) Flavor Tabs® and SENTINEL® (milbemycin oxime/lufenuron) Flavor Tabs® are indicated for the removal and control of whipworm infection (Trichuris vulpis).
As with other heartworm preventives, dogs must be tested for heartworm prior to using SENTINEL Flavor Tabs or INTERCEPTOR Flavor Tabs. In a small percentage of dogs treated with SENTINEL Flavor Tabs, digestive, neurologic, and skin side effects may occur. In a small percentage of dogs treated with INTERCEPTOR Flavor Tabs, digestive and neurologic side effects may occur.Click HERE for full product information for INTERCEPTOR Flavor Tabs.
